Principal Welcome

Welcome to our Eagle Lake website.  We are a very close family that will do everything we can to ensure our students have an opportunity to reach their goals and dreams.  We have a culture that is built on a "We will!" attitude.  We make no excuses, we always do our best.  

Eagle Lake embraces the idea that all of our students are all of our responsibility all of the time.

I am so lucky to be the principal at Eagle Lake Elementary School.  We are a very diverse community, and we will do everything we can to meet the needs of all learners.  We are very proud of our diversity and it makes us who we are.  We all learn from each other everyday.  I became the Eagle Lake principal in 2019 but started in Mankato Area Public Schools as the principal of Kennedy Elementary in 2012.  I have spent time in Worthington, where I was an assistant principal for two years.  I also taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 4th grade in Jordan.  I grew up in Helena, MT and went to college at Carroll College.  I moved to Minnesota in 2001 after teaching in Montana for two years.  I attended the University of Minnesota where I received a Master's degree in Education.  I then attended Saint Mary's University and received an K-12 Administrative License. 

My wife's name is Katy.  She has also taught elementary school for ten years.  We have three strong and healthy boys name Blake, Brett, and Bennett.  We also have a beautiful daughter named Livy.  Our kids love to read, ride bikes, and go on trips to the zoo.  They also love to visit their grandparents, Duane and Mary Evans, who reside in Blue Earth.

It is all about family!  I have two families. One at home and one at Eagle Lake.
